New species of frog found on remarkable island gives birth to live tadpoles

The tiny island of Sulawesi is a hotspot of biodiversity, home to a rare species of fanged frog first discovered in the late 90s. After years of documenting its evolution, a team of scientists has revealed it is the only known frog to give birth to live tadpoles.

John Kelton, Alba DiCenso named to Order of Canada

John Kelton, dean and vice-president of health sciences for McMaster and dean of the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine, is being recognized for his research into blood cell disorders and for contributions making Hamilton a health science research hub. Alba DiCenso is a professor emerita of McMaster’s School of Nursing and the Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics and is being honoured for her research in evidence-based nursing.
