Main phone line functioning properly

UPDATE (Feb. 23, 10 a.m.) — McMaster’s phone system has been stable since Saturday at 1 p.m. However, technicians will continue to monitor the University’s main phone line.

(Feb. 20, 4 p.m.) — McMaster is still experiencing intermittent issues with the main phone line. Service disruptions are possible as Bell works to find a permanent solution. During a disruption, callers can reach internal extensions from other internal extensions on campus. McMaster’s Security Services team can be reached by calling 88 from an internal phone, or 905-522-4135.

(Feb. 20, 10:20 a.m.) — The University’s main phone number, 905-525-9140, is not working properly.

Outside callers are not able to dial the University and outside calls cannot be placed from campus. Technicians are working on the issue. Community members can still reach Campus Security by calling 905-522-4135 or by dialing 88 from any campus phone. Internally, you can also call one McMaster extension from another campus extension.
