Charity Ball raises $24,000

After selling out in just eight days, more than 2,000 students came together on Friday, Feb. 8 at the Hamilton Convention Centre for the 10th Annual MSU Charity Ball, setting a new attendance record for one of the most popular events of the year.

Lecture examines Japanese-Canadian relations

Things started slowly, with the arrival of two Canadian missionaries in Japan in 1873. Four years later, a man named Manzo Nagano became the first documented Japanese immigrant to Canada. A decade later, the waterway between Yokohama and Vancouver was opened to steamships, and the number of Japanese immigrants coming to Canada began to increase.
