Watermain break on campus

Update, 9:20 a.m. Feb. 28: Water has been turned back on in affected buildings. Click here for more information.

Due to a watermain break on McMaster’s main campus, the water supply will be shut off in specific buildings starting at 2 p.m. to conduct repairs. The water shut-off will impact Mills Library, the Psychology Building, the Life Sciences Building, McMaster University Student Centre, Media Production Services, Gilmour Hall, L.R. Wilson Hall, McMaster Museum of Art and Divinity College.

These buildings remain open, however washrooms will be closed, and classes will continue as scheduled.

Find an interactive map that lists accessible washrooms on campus on our website.

Laboratory operations requiring access to water including where emergency eyewash stations and showers may be needed or handwashing practices are required, should be shut down until water is available in the building.

Food services in these buildings are closed. Hospitality Services has provided a list of food services open in other areas.

Updates will be provided on Daily News and social media when more information is available.
