Water main breaks affecting Stearn Drive, water use in some campus buildings

Update 9:30 a.m. Jan. 17: Facility Services have completed repairs to the water main at KTH.

Update 4 p.m.: Crews are finishing repairs on the water main break near the David Braley Athletic Centre. Stearn Drive remains closed while work is completed.

Crews are also working to isolate and repair a second water main break near Kenneth Taylor Hall. To do so, they will need to shut off water to Chester New Hall starting immediately, and to Kenneth Taylor Hall at 11 p.m.

Occupants of those buildings have been notified of the shut off. Crews will be working overnight to repair the main.

8:30 a.m.: A water main break on Stearn Drive in front of the David Braley Athletic Centre is affecting access to some campus parking lots.

The road is closed between the entrance to Lots B and C and the intersection in front of DBAC.

Access to Parking Lots G, Stadium and H is currently available via the Forsyth Avenue gate, which has been opened.

Access to Parking Lot D is currently unavailable, and access to Parking Lots A, B, C and Wilson Underground remains normal.

Crews are currently on scene working to repair the break.
