Update: Provost Search

The Selection Committee for a Provost and Vice-President (Academic) is engaged in an international search for McMaster’s next Provost. The committee continues its work and although a number of promising candidates have been considered, it is not yet in a position to bring forward a recommendation for appointment. It remains focused on finding the best possible Provost for McMaster and will make its recommendation as soon as possible.

Given that the search continues, Provost and Vice-President (Academic) David Wilkinson has agreed to extend his appointment until June 30, 2018, or until such earlier time as the next Provost is in place. Dr. Wilkinson has held the position of Provost since July 1, 2012. His qualifications and accomplishments are well known in the McMaster community, and the proposed extension to his term was enthusiastically recommended by the selection committee and unanimously supported by both the Senate and the Board of Governors
