Update: Next steps for new MAPS board

At its annual meeting earlier this month, members of the McMaster Association of Part-time students elected a new board of directors. Immediately following the election, the provost asked to meet with board members.

During that meeting, the provost reinforced the University’s concerns about past MAPS practices and reviewed with new board members the requirements McMaster had presented to the previous board. These included the need for increased transparency, strengthened governance and improved financial practices.

The meeting was positive and the University looks forward to continuing this dialogue with the new MAPS board and to working with it to make the improvements necessary to best serve McMaster’s part-time students.
