University Secretary search

The University Secretary, Helen Ayre, has announced her intention to retire this summer. Ayre has been a key member of the University Secretariat since 2005 and has held the role of Secretary since 2013. The University Secretary plays a crucial role in overseeing the University’s governance and judicial processes and ensuring the smooth running of the Senate and Board, as well as their various committees and associated bodies.

A Selection Committee, chaired by the President, has recently been struck and is beginning the work of finding a replacement for Ayre. The position will be advertised shortly and the goal is to complete the search and have the replacement University Secretary in place by September 1, 2017.

The Committee is being supported in its work by Louise Sidky of Sidky Myron and Associates and members of the McMaster community are welcome to send nominations for the role, as well as suggestions and comments for the Committee, directly to Louise: lsidky@sidkymyron.ca
