University Scholar applications due Dec. 15

Applications for the title of University Scholar are due Dec. 15.

The title is awarded by the Senate only to full-time members of the faculty and is awarded for a period of four years.

It is not renewable and may be held by a faculty member only once during his/her career at McMaster.

The award is intended to help elevate the stature of faculty members in mid-career, defined as colleagues within 5 years of promotion to association professor or 15 years of the completion of a PhD.

University Scholars are supported by a modest research award provided jointly by the Provost and Faculty Dean.

Details can be found here, and applications will be accepted at the appropriate Dean’s office.

Applications for the title of Distinguished University Professor closed Dec. 1. The Provost’s office received 26 applications for the title.
