The role of rankings

McMaster has maintained its position as one of the top 100 universities in the world for many years. But the various rankings evolve over time so president Patrick Deane has established an advisory group to review McMaster’s position in the rankings.

“The number of rankings continues to grow so one of the important roles of the group will be to identify the rankings which are most important to the university, especially those that influence recruitment of the highest quality faculty, students and staff,” said Deane.

The advisory group is being co-chaired by dean of the DeGroote School of Business Leonard Waverman and Andrea Farquhar, assistant vice-president, Public and Government Relations. Its full membership can be found here.

The group will be looking to engage additional internal and external expertise to support and inform its work.
