Temporary system issues with Sun Life Group Benefits resolved


June 21 update: Sun Life says the system issues that were impacting members’ ability to submit benefit claims on the plan member services website as well as the my Sun Life mobile app has been resolved.

Sun Life says the issue was due to an internal upgrade to their claims system and was not caused by an external breach or cyber security event.


Sun Life is currently experiencing temporary system issues impacting members’ ability to submit benefit claims on the plan member services website as well as the my Sun Life mobile app.

There is no impact to pharmacies being able to submit member drug claims directly to Sun Life.

As a result of these system issues, there may be longer wait times when contacting Sun Life’s call centre due to higher-than-average call volumes.

Sun Life is working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible and further updates will be provided once it has been resolved and members can resume online claim submission.
