Update (2:30 p.m.) Technical difficulties with telephones

Update: (2:30 p.m.) Telephone service has been restored to campus.

UTS became aware of a widespread issue with telephone service on campus today beginning at 8 a.m. Technicians performed emergency repair to the telephone switch to rectify the issue at 12:15 p.m., and service was restored at approximately 1 p.m.

Update: (12:30 p.m.) UTS technicians continue to work to resolve issues affecting telephones on campus. The sporadic service interruption to some main campus telephones is the result of power loss within one telephone switch.

10:00 a.m.: University Technology Services (UTS) is working to correct issues affecting McMaster’s telephone system. Service has been interrupted to many telephones.
