Survey launched to enhance campus Wi-Fi network
As part of the new McMaster IT Strategic Plan for 2019 – 2021, the university is about to embark on a multi-year, campus-wide wireless enhancement project. To help inform this important initiative, all McMaster staff, faculty and students are asked to share their input by completing a short survey before the end of February. The responses provided for this new survey will help define the next priorities.
Based on feedback from a previous campus wireless survey in 2017, several changes have already been made including enhanced indoor coverage in the libraries and the student centre, as well as enhanced outdoor coverage in locations such as bus stops.
Responses to the 2019 survey will help to:
- Prioritize wireless enhancement work;
- Ensure the wireless coverage is inclusive; and
- Ensure any challenges are clearly understood.
This survey will assist McMaster with providing the best possible wireless services at the university.
