Student Activity and Fitness Expansion project construction – Forsyth Street Impacts

As work begins for the planned Student Activity and Fitness Expansion (SAFE) at David Braley Athletic Centre (DBAC) and Ivor Wynne Centre (IWC), a new route for construction activity has been established.

Trucks and contractor vehicles will follow trucking regulations and enter campus at Main Street West, then follow a marshalled route to the site(s). A small section of the marshalled route includes a portion of Forsyth Street North (approx. 100ft). The construction team will ensure only limited truck traffic uses this section of the route to minimize the neighbourhood impact. The City of Hamilton, trades and contractors have been advised that no stopping or staging is permitted along the north part of Forsyth – the route will be used for access only.
