Removal of gas cylinder

Some campus roads, walkways and buildings will be temporarily closed during the overnight hours Sept. 18 into the morning of Sept. 19 to allow for the removal of a gas cylinder from the annex of the Tandem Accelerator building.

Last week a small leak was detected in the cylinder valve. The cylinder is housed in a vented and secure cabinet. The annex area of the building has been closed while the company that owns the cylinder prepares to remove it.

That removal will take place overnight to minimize impacts on campus pedestrians and motorists. The company expects the process to take approximately two hours.
