President David Farrar speaks at Future of Learning panel

McMaster President and Vice-Chancellor David Farrar is speaking today with heads of other Canadian universities at the Future of Learning, an annual event that brings together leaders in education who are passionate about improving teaching and learning experiences, applying a wide lens to the sector and digging deep on important subjects.

Farrar, along with the presidents of York University, the University of Waterloo, the University of British Columbia, Wilfrid Laurier University and Western University, will participate in a panel discussion called Reaching Higher for Our Students: North America’s University Leaders on the Future of Education.

Some of the matters they will touch on include:

  • The role of universities in today’s economy, civil society and social transformation;
  • The benefits and challenges that emerging technologies and digital innovation create for higher education;
  • The implications and impact of university research in a world that faces increasingly complex problems; and
  • The continued need for curiosity and integrity as we interrogate and engage with the world around us.
