Cyclists reminded to obey rules of the road

A problem-oriented policing (POP) project is being initiated in the area surrounding the University, beginning Monday Oct. 28.

The project will monitor cyclists in the area, and pay particular attention to rules of the road offences and equipment violations near McMaster. This initiative will run for one month.

Cyclists are reminded to use lights and wear reflective equipment — especially with shorter days and slick fall weather upon us. Riders should also proceed in the correct direction on one-way streets, and watch for vehicles pulling out of residential driveways near the University.

Please review all cycling laws for the City of Hamilton.
