New form for single source purchases

As a publicly funded institution, McMaster must adhere to several legislative requirements when purchasing goods, services and construction, including a competitive bidding process. Our Strategic Procurement Policy (SP-01) supports this legislation and any exceptions to the requirements.

Effective November 1, 2018, a new Limited Tendering Approval Form will be replacing the Single/Sole Source Form required when making a purchase and only one supplier or service provider may be able, or capable, of providing the required goods or services. A signed copy of this form along with supporting documentation must be included with the purchase requisition prior to making a commitment to the supplier, similar to the current process being followed.

Completion of this new form ensures university compliance with updated trade agreement legislation.
