McMaster’s Business Intelligence and Analytics Program launches IQAP dashboard for IQAP reviews

The Office of Institutional Research and Analysis (IRA) will be launching the second phase of the McMaster Business Intelligence (BI) Tool on October 24, 2019.

In addition to having access to the Research Awards (phase 1), this new release adds the following areas to the IQAP dashboard within the BI tool: term enrolment, student performance, course enrolment history, course grade distribution and degrees awarded.

Since 2016, a team based in Institutional Research and Analysis (IRA) has worked in collaboration with the MacPherson Institute for Leadership, Innovation and Excellence in Teaching to develop a comprehensive set of data that may be used for self studies as part of the Institutional Quality Assurance Process (IQAP) process.

The data set was accessible through the IQAP/IRA portal. This portal will remain functional until all the survey data has been moved to the BI Tool.

“We are excited to be working with IRA on this important advancement to data access for departments that will be reviewing their academic programs,” says Lori Goff, director of the MacPherson Institute.

Jacy Lee, associate vice-president, IRA, adds that “the BI Tool offers greater flexibility for users, data export functions and more data breakdowns. It will be refreshed daily and will offer users the most up-to-date data available.”
