McMaster named one of Canada’s top employers by Forbes

McMaster University has been named one of Canada’s top employers by Forbes, ranking 11th overall.

The sixth annual ranking was compiled by Forbes and market research firm Statista.

More than 10,000 Canadians working for businesses with at least 500 employees were surveyed in a series of online panels. Participants were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employer to friends and family.

The biggest winners in this year’s rankings were in the education sector, with four schools being named in the top ten.

Forbes reported many employers in the sector have worked to support their newly-remote employees, encouraging them to ask for help in maintaining a work-life balance.

The workplace benefit of tuition assistance for employees in the education sector was an oft-cited perk among participants, according to Forbes.
