Leadership and soft skills discussion with Red Wilson and Gordon Pitts

The DeGroote School of Business is pleased to present Gordon Pitts, business writer-in-residence at the DeGroote School of Business, and Lynton “Red” Wilson, chancellor emeritus of McMaster, as they share stories about Purdy Crawford, the subject of Pitts’ latest book.

In Fire in the Belly: How Purdy Crawford Rescued Canada and Changed the Way we do Business, Pitts recounts the life and career of one of Canada’s great business leaders.

From humble beginnings as the son of a Nova Scotia coal miner, Crawford rose to the highest heights of Toronto’s financial district and changed how Bay Street attracts and nurtures its leaders.

Lessons in leadership and the soft skills that are so important in great leadership will be discussed by Pitts and Wilson, with a Q&A period to follow.

The event will take place Monday, Sept. 21 in the Great Hall, University Club, McMaster University.

A networking reception will begin at 4 p.m., with discussion to follow at 4:30 p.m.

Complimentary refreshments will be provided.

The event is free to attend. However, registration is kindly requested by Sept. 17. The first 24 guests to register will receive a copy of Fire in the Belly.
