Kinesiology prof earns USCAR award

Jim Potvin, associate professor in kinesiology, has been recognized with a Research Partner Award from the United States Council for Automotive Research.

A leading research in the field of ergonomics, Potvin has advised the USCAR Ergonomics Task Force on many sub-teams.

Potvin recognized the USCAR Ergonomics Task Force as a productive avenue to advance research. His vision and skill to develop a sound proposal that addressed the needs of the three OEMs enabled him effectively to lead a grant proposal team.  As a result, the Ergonomics Task Force received $900,000 from the AutoPartnership of Canada; the first of this magnitude and leverage.  The grant will provide tools for Digital Human Modeling for three years.
