J-series phone set (CNH, TSH, FTH) reboot: Feb. 5

Following the recent upgrade to the McMaster phone system on December 23^rd, 2018, University Technology Services (UTS) identified an issue with a missing call forward button that affects ONLY the J Series phone sets. There are approximately 500 of these phones in total and they are primarily located in Chester New Hall (CNH), Togo Salmon Hall (TSH) and Kenneth Taylor Hall (KTH).

A reboot is required in order to apply the fix to these phones. The reboot will take place on Tuesday February 5^th, 2019 between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.. Each phone will be out of service for less than two minutes while the reboot completes over the two hour window.

During the brief outage you may experience, please use the following methods to reach Security in the event of an emergency:

Direct Dial : 905-522-4135

Any on campus pay phone – no charge dial “Security Button”

Dial ‘88’ on any other campus phone.
