Interim leadership roles filled


As the search for the next McMaster president continues, several key interim leadership roles are being filled. The appointment of Provost David Farrar to the role of acting president on July 1, creates openings in key academic positions.

The university is appointing Susan Searls Giroux acting provost and vice-president academic. Kim Dej will take on Searls Giroux’s role serving as acting vice-provost, faculty.

In the office of the vice-president research, Jim Dunn will assume the role of acting associate vice-president research.

“At times of transition, McMaster is well-served by experienced and highly qualified leaders who are willing and able to serve in these interim roles,” says Provost David Farrar.

The appointments are for up to one-year, or until the appointment of the new president
