Health and Safety Week

Join Environmental & Occupational Health Support Services (EOHSS) on Monday, May 5 to launch an exciting week of events for North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week 2014! This year’s theme is “Safety is No Accident”. NAOSH Week also coincides with Emergency Preparedness Week.

The purpose of NAOSH week is to promote ongoing health and safety in the workplace and the community. Several sessions have been scheduled to take place during the week including but not limited to: Biological Safety Cabinets, Personal & Family Emergency Preparedness, WHMIS after the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) and tours of the Security Services Command Centre.

Join us on May 7 for the annual Vendor Fair and BBQ. Our vendor fair for all staff will be held on the field in front of BSB/JHE or in the event of rain, in the MUSC Marketplace. While at the Vendor Fair, don’t forget to check out the Safety Shower Test Unit from Facility Services. This unit is ergonomically designed to make the safety shower flushing process easier.

The Health and Safety Award of Excellence will be presented by President Patrick Deane at 12:10 p.m. There will also be a draw for great prizes.
