Grad students: are you up for a three-minute challenge?

The competition is on!

McMaster’s graduate students and postdoctoral fellows are invited to present their research at the second annual McMaster Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition, Feb. 11-13.

The catch? Competitors have only 180 seconds to share their work – and its wider impact – with a diverse audience. Watch videos of past finalists.

The 3MT challenge is open to PhD candidates, Master’s students who are completing a thesis or major research project and postdoctoral fellows from across all faculties.

The winner from McMaster will compete at the upcoming Ontario 3MT competition, April 24. McMaster is hosting the event, which will feature students from all 19 Ontario universities. The winner of the provincial contest will compete for the national title in May.

For eligibility, rules of competition and to register, please visit the McMaster 3MT website.

Information Session

Learn more about the 3MT competition at an upcoming information session: Thursday, Jan. 23 in CIBC Hall (MUSC 308/309) at 10:30 a.m. Finalists from last year’s competition will be on hand for this informal discussion and Q&A.
