Flags lowered for National Day of Mourning

McMaster’s flags are lowered today and through the weekend in honour of National Day of Mourning on Sunday, April 28. This is a time to remember those who have lost their lives, suffered injury or illness on the job, or experienced a work-related tragedy.

A small ceremony open to the McMaster community will also take place on Friday, April 26, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. in the Council Chambers in Gilmour Hall.

The National Day of Mourning also serves as an opportunity to collectively renew our commitment to health and safety in the workplace to prevent further injuries and tragedies.
