Flags at half-mast in memory of Ron Joyce

The campus flags are at half-mast in memory of Ron Joyce, who passed away on January 31, 2019 at the age of 88.

Joyce first became involved at McMaster more than 20 years ago. He supported student awards across several faculties, created bursary funds, and the Joyce Family Foundation became a major contributor to McMaster’s Children and Youth University. He is perhaps best known for his gifts that created the Ron Joyce Stadium and allowed the Ron Joyce Centre at the DeGroote School of Business in Burlington to be built.

Joyce was a member of the Order of Canada and was the recipient of several honorary doctorate degrees, including a Doctor of Laws bestowed by McMaster in 1998.
