Feedback needed for Ward 1 Participatory Budgeting process

Hamilton city councillor Brian McHattie will be on campus Sept. 3 gathering input for the Ward 1 Participatory Budgeting Process.

McHattie will be in the McMaster Students Union board room, located in MUSC 201, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The community is invited to attend the session to provide feedback for the Participatory Budgeting Committee.

Participatory budgeting directly involves the community in making decisions about the spending priorities for a defined public budget. The decision on how to spend this envelope of $1.5M will be made by an advisory committee, made up of twenty community members. The committee is now working on soliciting ideas from community members, such as the students living in the general vicinity of the McMaster campus, to help identify the priorities of Ward 1 residents.
