Facility Services employees choose Unifor as bargaining representative

McMaster Facility Services employees have voted to choose Unifor as their representative in collective bargaining.

Earlier this month, Unifor filed an application to represent Facility Services staff currently represented by the Building Union of Canada (BUC). This employee group includes most of the McMaster staff involved in the maintenance and service of University buildings.

The Ontario Labour Relations Board notified the University that Unifor had been chosen by a majority of those employees who voted.

McMaster recognizes and respects the right of all employees to elect to be represented by a union of their choice and to make that choice freely.

The University looks forward to negotiating a fair and responsible new collective agreement with Unifor.
