Divestment advisory group to be formed
The University has been presented with petitions from faculty and students requesting that over the next five years, McMaster divest its endowment funds from fossil fuel companies.
This important discussion mirrors others underway at many Canadian universities. McMaster President Patrick Deane is forming an advisory committee to review the issue and make recommendations to the Finance Committee of the Board of Governors, which is responsible for the University’s investment policies.
