Creating Campus-community Partnerships: An Idea Exchange, May 14

On May 14th, McMaster’s Office of Community Engagement Invites faculty, staff, students and members of the Hamilton community to Creating Community-Campus Partnerships: An Idea Exchange.

The Community-Campus Idea Exchange is a space for McMaster and our community partners to share ideas and develop actions related to community-campus partnerships.

As the Network for Community-Campus Partnerships will be 5 years-old in September, this year’s theme—Moving Forward Together—will bring colleagues together to share successes, challenges, and lessons learned.

When: Monday May 14, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Where: CIBC Hall (3rd Floor, McMaster University Student Centre), McMaster University

Goals of the event include:
  • Knowledge Sharing: Community and campus partners will share their ideas and work as it relates to community-engaged research, education, and service.
  • Networking: Participants will connect and build relationships.
  • Inspiring Action and Building Capacity: Attendees will be able to have action-oriented conversations while building capacity and understanding of how to build research, education, and service partnerships.

As 2018-2019 will also mark the halfway point of McMaster’s first community engagement strategy, this knowledge sharing will be focused within the context of how colleagues have been pursuing our community engagement goals, while also developing ideas on how the University and our partners can continue moving forward together to pursue the goals and objectives identified in our co-developed strategic plan.
