Canadian Tire CTO to speak at Café X


Eugene Roman, chief technology officer with Canadian Tire Corporation Limited, will deliver a speech at the next Café X event on Tuesday, Jan. 21.

Roman’s presentation,”The Digital World: Where are we heading …What are the future traps?” will take place in the Engineering Technology Building (Room 535) from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Roman joined Canadian Tire from Open Text, where he was chief technology officer. In this role, he was responsible for global research and development, product development and IT. He spearheaded the delivery of mobile content management systems and worked closely with customers to identify opportunities to streamline operations through technology solutions.

He is a frequent speaker on “The Future of Digital Content,” and was recently appointed as a distinguished senior fellow at the Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto, where he will continue his outstanding work in advancing innovation in Canada. Read the full bio.
