Campus events set to return

Discretionary events will return to campus this Fall with a gradual re-opening focused on the health and safety of the McMaster community.

University and student-organized events are vital to the vibrancy of the campus community and enhance McMaster’s academic mission and operations. Developed in consultation with key campus stakeholders, the highlights of the plan include a campus-wide strategy and timeline that allows for groups with immediate needs such as training and Welcome Week activities to reserve room bookings in time for September activities.

The plan follows provincial re-opening guidelines for indoor and outdoor capacity limits while gradually expanding reservation opportunities with a proposed return to full space capacities and external groups bookings in January 2022. All events will need to comply with McMaster COVID-19 requirements and provincial regulations such as passive screening, contract tracking, indoor masking, and physical distancing as required.

Recognized campus groups, accredited external organizations, and non-accredited external organizations are welcome to complete booking inquiries for all upcoming phases via the Conference and Event Services website.

The Return to Discretionary McMaster Events Plan will be continuously reviewed as changes require.
