Call for submissions: ‘Naturally Connected’ exhibition

A call for submissions is currently out for Naturally Connected, an upcoming exhibition of local art creating awareness and support for the Cootes to Escarpment EcoPark System.

The vision for the EcoPark System is that it will become internationally known as a protected, permanent and connected natural lands sanctuary from Hamilton Harbour to the Escarpment that promotes natural ecosystems and human health within Ontario’s Greenbelt. Learn more.

The theme of selected works of art will pertain to this vision, incorporating key ideas and motifs.

Please submit 72 dpi image of artwork, 50-word artist biography and 50-word statement
about your artwork to petrelan@mcmaster.ca. All media is accepted.

Please include contact information (email and phone) in your submission, and indicate whether or not you are interested in the following: being considered for a follow up exhibition from April to September in the McMaster Presidentʼs Corridor; being considered for a concurrent and/or follow-up exhibition in the Royal Botanical Gardens.

Deadline for submission is Friday, March 7.

The exhibition will be running March 21-23 in the gallery space of Togo Salmon Hall (TSH 114). Please note: artists are responsible for all transportation of work to and from TSH 114 on Friday, March 14, 2014 from 8:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m.

Selected works will also be open to a silent auction where 20, 50 or 100 per cent of the proceeds of each work sold will be donated towards the Cootes to Escarpment EcoPark System. As many as 20 artists will participate in the exhibition with works selected by an independent jury.
