Arlene Fajutrao Dosen appointed executive director and assistant dean of Student Success

Fajutrao Dosen’s new role builds on a long and distinguished career at McMaster where she is currently the director of Student Success in Student Affairs.

Arlene Fajutrao Dosen will continue her work supporting student development, student life and successful student outcomes as the executive director and assistant dean of Student Success.  

Fajutrao Dosen’s new role builds on a long and distinguished career at McMaster where she is currently the director of Student Success in Student Affairs.  

As the director of Student Success over the last two years, Fajutrao Dosen has led the Student Success Centre (SSC) to integrate several student-centred units, including the Access Program, Wilson Leadership Scholar Award (WLSA), Spiritual Care and Learning Centre (SCLC) and The Forge, in partnership with Gay Yuyitung, as part of an initiative of the Office of the Vice-President Research. 

As executive director and assistant dean of Student Success, Fajutrao Dosen will continue providing leadership for the SSC while also overseeing Student Accessibility Services (SAS) in collaboration with Andrijana Olaizola, Acting Director of SAS.  

In her new role, Fajutrao Dosen will work collaboratively with student support units, Faculties and programs, community partners and student groups to create accessible learning opportunities that strategically support McMaster students’ personal, academic and professional aspirations.

A McMaster graduate, Fajutrao Dosen began her career at the University in 1995 in the Career Planning and Employment Centre within Student Affairs. She has served in numerous roles at McMaster in career services, university advancement, recruitment and admissions, student engagement and success, and previously served as the director of outreach and engagement for the Faculty of Engineering.
