An update – Vice-President Research

Today, President Patrick Deane shared the following news with the McMaster community:

It is with great regret that I write to share Rob Baker’s decision to step down as Vice-President (Research) at the end of this month. As I’m sure you’ll all agree, Rob has been an outstanding and deeply committed VPR and has served McMaster with great distinction. However, the mental health issues that he has battled for much of his life, and the strain this has placed him under, have led him to conclude that he can no longer fulfill the responsibilities of the position. Please join with me in thanking Rob for his service and wishing him well. His wise counsel and thoughtful approach will be very much missed.

A recommendation for the role of Acting Vice-President (Research) will come forward shortly.
