McMaster University is committed to sustainability. There are many on-campus initiatives to support this commitment. In order to create awareness and communicate information about these initiatives McMaster University Sustainability Day will be held on Wednesday, October 29. The event takes place in the Student Centre Marketplace from 11 a.m. to 2 p. m.

Bringing humanitarianism back to medicine

It's well accepted that physicians, nurses and health care professionals are caring and compassionate to those caught in difficult circumstances - a critical illness, a terminal diagnosis and near death. Yet - too many patients complain it's in the moments when they most needed a shoulder to lean on, that a sympathetic ear wasn't forthcoming.

McMaster closing in on goal of $400-million

McMaster University has raised more than three-quarters of its $400-million fundraising goal. It is the most ambitious fundraising initiative in the University's history, and the largest campaign ever mounted in the greater Hamilton area. Peter George, president of McMaster University, confirmed to students, staff and faculty gathered this afternoon in the David Braley Athletic Centre that The Campaign for McMaster University had secured more than $327-million of its goal of $400-million.

Local high school students rally against bullying

Two thousand local high school students came together today at McMaster to rally against one of the worst forms of bullying: racism. Hoops Against Hate: Faces of Racism brought in former Hamilton Tiger-Cat Orlando Bowen and retired McMaster professor Gary Warner to speak to students about the dangers of racism.
