Westdale business owners are welcoming McMaster students back to the community this week.
For a number of years, business owners in the Village have teamed together to welcome back students at the start of the academic year. Once again this year, the Westdale Village BIA has put up welcome banners in the area to show their support for students as they head back to studies.
“McMaster students bring energy to Westdale and are a valued part of our community,” said Neil Hughes, executive director of the Westdale Village BIA. “Many of our businesses rely on them and we're glad they're back. We wish them the best of luck in their academic studies this fall, and we look forward to serving them now that they've returned for their classes.”
The Westdale Village BIA's “Welcome back students” banners have been put up annually since 2008 and reflect the business community's close relationship with the student population.
Nestled next to McMaster, Westdale Village is home to a diverse and unique collection of shops and services easily accessible by foot and public transit. More information on the BIA can be found on its website.
