Welcome Week set to begin at McMaster

Thousands of students will begin their university careers this week as McMaster University prepares for its annual Welcome Week activities.

Highlights of the week include the McMaster Marauders football team taking on Wilfrid Laurier at the Ron Joyce Stadium, concerts at Faculty Hollow, the PJ Parade and Shinerama, Canada's largest post-secondary school fundraiser.

Below is a partial schedule of Welcome Week events. A more detailed schedule of events can be found here.

Saturday, Sept. 4: Residence opening ceremonies

Sunday, Sept. 5: A Taste of McMaster (pancake breakfast), residence opening ceremonies

Monday, Sept. 6: Marauders football game, residence street
festival, on- and off-campus social

Tuesday, Sept. 7: Welcome from President, provost and dean of students, Faculty Day, first year concert (Alexisonfire)

Wednesday, Sept. 8: Clubsfest, PJ Parade, off-campus Westdale food tour, IRC Karaoke

Thursday, Sept. 9: First day of classes, faculty night

Friday, Sept. 10: MSU community cleanup and BBQ, Shinerama charity casino

Saturday, Sept. 11: Shinerama, concert (Arkells, San Sebastian)

Sunday, Sept. 12: IRC bed races, Welcome Week finale, residence closing ceremonies
