After a national search McMaster has appointed Roger Couldrey as its new VP Administration. Couldrey has served as interim VP since last summer after Karen Belaire left the University to join London Health Sciences and St. Joseph's Health Care in London.

“We couldn't have asked for a more committed and capable candidate,” said President Peter George. “Roger has demonstrated his belief in McMaster over many years of service on the University's Board of Governors. He has tremendous vision and is able to find solutions to what can often seem like insurmountable challenges.”

Couldrey had an extensive career at the Bank of Montreal where he held a number of senior executive positions for many years. He also has a broad range of private sector experience including time as president and CEO of epost. He has served on McMaster's Board of Governors for ten years, including seven years as chair of the Finance Committee.

“Spending eight months as interim VP was a wonderful opportunity to discover even more about the activities and people at the University,” said Couldrey. “McMaster is a remarkable institution and I'm honoured to have the chance to help McMaster achieve its ambitious goals and to work with such a great team of people within the Administrative division and in other parts of the University.”

Couldrey's appointment takes effect as of April 1. His contract is available here.
