Currently a financial advisor and managing partner at Assante Wealth Management's Hamilton and Burlington office, Bridgman graduated from McMaster in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education. Playing as a guard for the varsity basketball team, Bridgman developed an appreciation for the role of athletics in university life which continues to this day.

Founding the Court Side Club year-end banquet for Marauder basketball teams as well as the Gala Dinner, which raises money for student scholarships, Bridgman's involvement with McMaster has continued throughout his life.

“I strongly believe in the role of university in society,” said Bridgman. “It's an extremely meaningful part of a young person's development.”

In addition to his work with McMaster's athletes, Bridgman also serves as the financial advisor for the McMaster Alumni Association and started the Pro-Am Golf Tournament, which this year is in support of the Athletics Recreation Centre & Stadium project.

As though the Winona, Ontario native isn't busy enough, Bridgman is also involved with the United Way, where he helps organize two golf tournaments, Wesley Urban Ministries, and Careforce International, where his wife and fellow McMaster graduate Jennifer is president.

“Hard work and dedication to important causes is common to all McMaster alumni,” said Bridgman. “The McMaster community has a very strong sense of volunteerism, both across Canada and around the world.”
