[Video] What caused the ‘Occupy Wall Street’ movement?

The protest movement which began as Occupy Wall Street moved north to some of Canada's largest cities over the weekend. Called Occupy Canada, the movement calls for the end of corporate greed and seeks to bring attention to economic disparity and other social issues.

“The growing frustration largely stems from the fact that CEO salaries, particularly in the financial industry, have largely rebounded from the 2008/2009 lows, whereas the salaries and job prospects for the average worker have not seen improvement,” said Kiridaran Kanagaretnam, associate professor of accounting and financial management services at McMaster's DeGroote School of Business. “Adding to this frustration is the fact that there is also a concerted effort to push back new financial regulations in the United States enacted to prevent future financial meltdowns.”
