Today is National Philanthropy Day, a day meant to celebrate the achievements that
philanthropic giving, volunteering and social engagement have made in all aspects of life.

In recognition of National Philanthropy Day, McMaster is celebrating its first-ever
McMaster Philanthropy Week, an opportunity to thank the University's 10,000 annual
donors and celebrate
the campus community members who make the Universitys innovative research and
discovery possible.

Here, McMaster's President Patrick Deane talks about the importance of campus
community support through philanthropic giving to the University.
