Valedictorian addresses science graduates after power outage disrupts convocation
Valedictorian JP Del Carmen was unable to give his speech to science graduates in June
due to a power outage that disrupted the Faculty's convocation ceremony at Hamilton
Place. After arrangements were made to tape his address at McMaster's television
studio, Del Carmen contracted laryngitis, leaving him once again unable to deliver the
speech.
With Del Carmen healthy and the electricity on, the address to students, faculty, family
and guests was finally filmed Wednesday afternoon. The full speech is posted below.
