The Committee to Recommend a President, supported by our search consultants, Spencer Stuart, is encouraged by the progress of the search to date.

The position and candidate specification document for the President and Vice Chancellor position was finalized in early June and is available on the Committee's website. It is also being widely distributed to sources, potential prospects, and the community at large.

An advertisement appeared in the Globe & Mail on June 17, 19 and 20, 2009 and is now posted on the University Affairs website and on the Canadian Association of University Teachers website; both postings can be viewed by typing in the keyword “McMaster”.

The Committee is keeping to the timeline it set in April. We are in the second phase of our search, which involves extensive targeting, sourcing, and assessment of potential candidates. We will continue to seek (and welcome) nominations, applications, and suggestions over the summer. The Committee's next meeting will be held in July to review potential candidate profiles to date.
