Ruzni is a very important person. Not only did the master's student in chemistry support McMaster's United Way Campaign, his donation won him a reserved parking spot for a year.
When he received an e-mail about the campaign's fundraising prize draw, he bought three tickets for $5. His donation not only went towards a good cause, it also netted him a reserved parking spot for a year — a prize valued at $504.
“I didn't expect to win, but a bought a couple of tickets and it worked out quite well,” said Ruzni. “I could totally use [a reserved parking spot],” he added. “It's convenient, it's for a year and it's a good cause. All around, everyone's happy.”
Ruzni's parking spot is located by the shuttle bus stop in the Zone 6 parking lot.
This isn't the first time Ruzni has supported the United Way. He also climbed the stairs of the CN Tower for a United Way fundraiser.
This is the second year Parking and Security Services has offered a reserved parking spot as a draw prize for McMaster's United Way Campaign.
