Student Centre where it was immediately given a boost by a local organization.
The Urban Native Home Agency, a local United Way-funded organization, surprised the
committee when it presented Len Lifchus, CEO of the United Way of Burlington and
Greater Hamilton, with a handmade quilt. Lifchus in turn gave the quilt to McMaster
President Patrick Deane to auction off in support of the campaign, which runs until Dec.
6.
The presentation was made at a special second day of the Community Engagement and
Volunteer Fair, which featured organizations that benefit directly from the United Way
campaign.
Funds raised are used to help reduce and prevent poverty, strengthen neighbourhoods
and support seniors in the Hamilton area.
