Two weeks remain in McMaster's 2009 United Way Campaign and with just a few days left, organizers are encouraging the community to help in a final push to meet its $225,000 goal.

So far, community members have generously contributed $202,000 or 90 per cent of the campaign target. Organizers say it is not too late to play a part and contribute to the campaign which helps fund many important services in Hamilton and Burlington.

"We're very thankful for the generosity of the McMaster community," says Betty Ann Levy, campaign co-chair. "It's a challenging time. The economy is uncertain and each of us is being called upon to help those impacted by natural disasters around the world, all the while remembering to reach out to our neighbours who rely on the United Way."

The overall United Way Campaign for the Hamilton and Burlington region is struggling to meet its target, so the success of the McMaster campaign is extremely important.
