Hamilton police have now confirmed that a McMaster student found injured this morning near the Cootes Drive Bridge has passed away from his injuries. Investigators say it was a tragic accident. Foul play has been ruled out.

“We are greatly saddened by this tragedy,” says dean of students Phil Wood. “On behalf of McMaster I extend our sincere sympathies to the student's family and friends. It is difficult to lose someone so young with such a promising future.”
